KU Cheerleading Clinics
The University of Kansas Cheerleaders offer a variety of clinic formats to best suit your needs. All our clinics are taught by experienced KU cheerleaders and coaches, and the clinics are small enough that you'll get plenty of individual instruction.
KU Cheer Skills Clinics
Our cheer clinics are open to all ages and are taught by the KU cheerleaders and coaches. Clinic lengths and costs vary, so see below for our upcoming clinics.
1-day College Prep Clinic: Sat. Aug 14, 9am-5pm
Open to all ages but aimed at high schoolers, this 8-hour $80-clinic will have 3 stunt sessions (your choice of coed with the KU cheerleaders, or all-girl if you bring your stunt group), some tumbling, lunch (probably pizza), an information session, an optional 1-hour walking campus tour, and some other fun activities. The clinic is in Room 216 of Robinson Center (Map) which is right across from Allen Fieldhouse.
Download Clinic Registration form (pdf)
Register by printing and mailing the forms, but if it's too late to mail it before the clinic, just bring it and the payment with you to the clinic and email me (Corey@KUcheer.com) to let me know you're coming. We'll also have KU Cheer t-shirts for sale for $15 (cash or checks to Kansas Athletics) at all of our clinics (until we run out of them!).
Spirit Day: September 11, 2010
KU's Spirit Day is a chance for cheerleaders ages 6 to 18 to cheer the first half of the KU vs. Georgia Tech football game in Memorial Stadium with the KU cheerleaders! Check back here later for registration information, or see the Recruits page to sign up for Email Updates, and I'll email you when the registration info is ready.
KU Summer Cheer Camps
Our cheerleading camps are open to full squads, partial squads, and individuals from Kindergarten to high school seniors (in separate camps). The KU cheerleaders and coaches teach all-girl stunts, tumbling, cheers, and sidelines in addition to some fun games and activities. Campers stay in air-conditioned Naismith Hall with meals provided.
For more information, see the KU Spirit Camps web site.
Also, check out newspaper stories about our July 2007 camp and June 2008 camp.
Open Gyms
Open gyms are another way to work on your skills. Some good cheer open gyms in eastern Kansas are listed below. (Note that these open gyms aren't run by or affiliated with KU.) Please let me know if any of this information is incorrect!

- CAGE in Topeka Tuesdays 7:00-9:00pm ($5)
- AACS in Kansas City Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm ($10)
- KGDC in Olathe Wed. & Sunday 7:30-9:30pm ($7)
- Mercury in Riverside, MO Thursdays 8:00-10:00pm ($5)
Private Clinics
At KU's private cheer clinics, one or more KU Cheerleaders work one-on-one with your squad. We customize the material to your interests and skill level, and we even teach at your preferred location! To schedule a KU private clinic at a cost of $75/participant/day, contact Cat Jarzemkoski at: catj@ku.edu or (785) 864-3002. For private stunt lessons, contact me (Corey) at corey@kucheer.com and I can put you in touch with some of our guys.
