2010-2011 KU Cheerleading Squad

April was a competitive gymnast before cheering 4 years at Northwest Missouri State. Now she's in KU's Physical Therapy program.

Baylee was a competitive gymnast before cheering 2 years at Andover High and 2 years at Cheer Eclipse.

Caesie cheered 4 years at Emporia High and 1 year at Cheer Fusion. She plans to major in Pre-Dentistry.

Emily graduated from Thunder Ridge High School, where she cheered on the varsity squad for four years, was captain for one year, earned All-State Cheerleader twice, and was also a pole vaulter on the varsity track team. Emily is planning on majoring in Elementary Education and is very excited to be a Jayhawk Cheerleader!

Grace cheered for 3 years at Bishop Miege and 2 years with KC Cheer.

Haley was born in Cincinnati Ohio, raised in Highlands Ranch Colorado, and graduated in Shawnee, Kansas from Shawnee Mission Northwest. She competed for Emerald City Gymnastics for nine years traveling statewide reaching the junior Olympic level nine team. She competed on her high school varsity gymnastics team for an additional four years as captain and being on the All-state, All-sun country, All-metro, and All-star Johnson County team. Haley is the three-year defending regional floor champion and state floor exercise champion of 2007 and currently coaches gymnastics. She is excited for her third year on the squad!

Halie attended Blue Valley North where she cheered all 4 years including 3 years on Varsity. Halie earned NCA All American cheerleader honors all 4 years and is an NCA staff member. On the BVN track team, Halie pole vaulted and sprinted, earning 4 varsity letters and she participated in the Kansas Relays and state track championships. Halie was a 10 year competitive cheerleader. As a team member of KC Cheer, Halie enjoyed participating on a Worlds team and earned numerous individual and national championships. Halie plans to major in Business and has dreamed of being a KU cheerleader since she was 3 years old. Go Hawks!

Jordan was born in Wichita, KS and graduated as valedictorian from Maize High School. Jordan cheered for 3 1/2 years on her school squad earning All-American every year. She also cheered competitively for 9 years, most recently on Cheer Eclipse's Senior Unlimited Co-Ed level 5 squad that competed at Worlds the past 3 years. Jordan plans on majoring in Pharmacy and is super duper excited to be a Jayhawk!

Kaitlin cheered 4 years at Pine Creek High School and plans to major in Biology/Education.

Kathryn cheered for 3 years at Blue Valley West and now plans to major in Applied Behavioral Science.

Laura cheered 4 years at Mill Valley High and 2 years at KGDC. She plans to major in Special Education.

Megan cheered 4 years at Thunder Ridge High and 2 years with Peak Athletics. She plans to major in Finance/Accounting.

Cheering since second grade, Meghan cheered on her high school varsity team for four years and earned All-American all four years. Meghan was also on the East Elite Senior Level 4 team for two years, winning seven national championships and competing at Worlds twice. She is now very excited to be a Jayhawk!

"I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I was a competitive gymnast for seven years, competing at Level 9 Nationals. I graduated from Cascia Hall Preparatory School, where I cheered on the varsity squad for three years. I was a member of the cheer squad that won the 2008 State Championship and 2006 and 2007 NCA National Championships. I am very excited to be a Jayhawk!"

Alex is a pre-med major who cheered and played other sports at Derby High.

Amen-Ra is a pre-med major who played football in high school.

Ben played football in high school and is excited to continue college cheerleading.

Charles played football in high school but started cheering at Butler Community College. His parents are KU alums and he's happy to carry on the tradition.

Cole cheered one year in high school and is majoring in Exercise Science.

"I was a huge dancer until I found out what cheerleading was all about. I've been highly involved in multiple organizations and will always try anything once. I'm excited for the new year following the tradition of KU cheer and hoping to achieve my full potential. I'm trying to get my Ph. D in physical therapy so school is an important part of my life. Rock Chalk!"

Evan cheered all-star in high school for a few years.

John cheered at ACE Athletics and plans to major in Business Administration.

Garrett is an Exercise Science/Physical Therapy major who is in his sophomore year at KU. He loves being at KU and being a part of one of the best athletic programs in the nation.

Kyle, who plans to major in Exercise Science, cheered 4 years in high school and 2 years of all-star.

Martrez is a UCA staffer who also cheered at DuPage and Coffeyville. He is majoring in P.E./Health.

Matt is an Engineeering major who cheered at Cheer Eclipse and Hutchinson Community College before coming to KU.

Mike is a powerlifter who cheered at Missouri State and St. Louis University before coming to KU.

Stan is a senior from Wichita, KS majoring in Business Management. He competed in gymnastics for 12 years and was state champion twice and regional qualifier nine times. He then competed for Air Capital Spirit for two years in high school as captain both years. He won "Top All-American" award at NCA camp his senior year, and competed at worlds his last year of All-Stars. He now coaches a Sr. Level 5 team in Kansas City. This is his fourth year on the squad and he's excited to compete at nationals and to cheer for one of the best athletic programs in the nation!

"I come from the small town of Lexington, Illinois where I cheered for one year. My partner Colleen and I won the ICCA coed stunt competition. I grew up a Jayhawk fan, and it's been my dream to go to school here. I really look forward to new challenges and the upcoming season at KU!"

Zach cheered a little and wrestled at Derby High School. He's majoring in Exercise Science at KU.

Zach cheered for Sun Prairie high school for 4 years and is majoring in Engineering at KU.
